Federal Agency for Technical Relief

Stake-Out for Federal Youth Camp

The German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (Technische Hilfswerk – THW) held their 18th annual Federal Youth Camp (18. Bundesjugendlager) in Föhren, Rhineland-Palatinate.

The TinySurveyor Terra performed stake-out for the layout of the individual exhibition stands and the accompanying campsite. Over 4000 youths attended the event, including many United Nations organizations.

Dr. Andreas Knöpfler from OV Landau talked about his experience with using the TinySurveyor at this unique event.

"We use the robot because it's simply faster. We could also do the whole thing with conventional technology. But that would be much slower and so the work is simply more fun if you use this new, modern technology."

The Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) is Germany’s primary federal civil protection organization, uniquely distinguished by its reliance on over 80,000 dedicated volunteers. Operating under the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the THW provides crucial technical and humanitarian assistance both within Germany and globally, responding to natural disasters, accidents, and other emergencies. Their specialized expertise ranges from search and rescue and emergency power supply to water purification and logistics, making them a vital and versatile component of disaster response worldwide.
